Locker Cleanout

On Tuesday May 12th and Wednesday May 13th,  students can pick up their items. All lockers have been emptied and student’s personal items have been placed in bags for pickup. Students who need to pick up an instrument will also be able to get them during this time.

Updated Information About Meal Distribution JM Food Service and Transportation employees getting things ready for meal distribution for JM students.

There will be another distribution Monday (March 30), which will include a week's worth of food. By providing a week's worth of food on Monday, this means food distribution will go to once a week. We are looking at Tuesday as being the set day of distribution after the March 30 food distribution.

1st Robotics Challenge 2019-2020 Robotics Team Members at the Competition

On Sunday  January 12th the Jackson-Milton Robotics team traveled to East Palestine High school to compete in FIRST Robotics FTC Mahoning Valley Qualifier.  Team performed very well for being a very young team (mostly middle schoolers going against juniors and seniors)  we finished ranked 14th out of 21 teams.  

 

Our next state robotics qualifying competition is on February 1st at Kent State University main branch.

Scholastic Art Awards 2019-2020

I would like to congratulate the following students on their artistic accomplishments in the 2020 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. This year we have six pieces moving onward to NYC to be judged on a national level. Kalliope is also in the competition to receive the New York Life Award & Civic Expression Award for her arts ($2000 award).  I am very proud of their hard work and accomplishments.

 

  • Kalliope Ivari received 3 Gold Keys & 3 Silver Keys
  • Brianna Shannon received 2 Honorable mentions
  • Grace McDevitt received two honorable mentions.

 

Kalliope's artwork will move forward and we will get the results in March! Below are pictures of their work. They will be on  display in the Soloman Gallery inside Bliss Hall at YSU until Jan 30th. The awards ceremony will take place at YSU on Sat., Jan 25, 2020 at 12:00pm at the Ford Theater.

Scholastic Art Awards 2019-2020

Congratulations Jackson-Milton Middle School!

 Jackson-Milton Middle School is a 2019 Momentum Award recipient by the State Board of Education of Ohio. 

According to the Ohio Department of Education’s website, “The Momentum Award is presented by the State Board of Education and recognizes schools for exceeding expectations in student growth for the year. Schools must earn straight A’s on all Value-Added measures on the report card. The school or district must have at least two Value-Added subgroups of students, which includes gifted, lowest 20% in achievement, and students with disabilities.” 

“Congratulations to our staff and students. This honor is a perfect example of the dedicated staff and caring students that we have here in Blue Jay Country,” said Kirk Baker, Superintendent, Jackson-Milton Schools. 

Only six schools in Mahoning County received the momentum award, including Jackson-Milton Middle School. This is the second year in a row, Jackson-Milton Middle School has received a Momentum Award.

Due to new school check in security system, all visitors must bring their drivers license to be checked in at the office, even if you have been checked in as a visitor in the past.

The Jackson-Milton Transportation Department Has Moved

The Jackson-Milton Transportation office has moved. The new phone extension is 1406.
