Mr. Hogue's Sports Update Week of 12-19-2016

We have been busy with winter sports for about the last month and our teams are off to very fast starts.

Girls Basketball-  Our coaches have been busy with the girls so far and both  JV and Varsity teams are undefeated.  Our middle school programs are also very busy and have been enjoying success.  The High School girls have two big games this week as they go to South Range on Monday and host Lisbon on Thursday.  These are two big games against quality opponents and they will need our support.  Our girls middle school go to Reserve on Monday and then host E.P. on Wed before an extended break.

Boys Basketball-  Our boys basketball team has been battling all year and have picked up a few victories on the young season as well.  The J.V. team is also very talented and have only lost one game so far.  The boys home opener will be this Tuesday at 6:00 PM and they are also home next week as well.  The junior high programs are showing improvement each game and will host Western Reserve on Monday night.  This is usually a packed house for this game and the communities really get into the game so come on out and support the boys.

Cheerleaders-

If you had a chance to walk in our hallways there are many different signs on the lockers.  These girls and their coaches really do a nice job of spreading "Bluejay Pride."  They are hosting two special events for the Boys basketball game on Tuesday.;

1.  The Cheerleaders will be performing their annual Christmas Dance during the halftime of the varsity game.

2.  They will also be doing a toy drive on Tuesday.  If you bring in a new toy you will be issued a pass that will allow you to go to another game of your choosing.

Wrestling-

The wrestling team went ahead opened their season a few weeks ago at home.  We got to show off our new mats to the community and our wrestlers were happy to have them.  Our varsity team participated in the "D3 Classic" at Waterloo High School this past weekend.

Nick Vergallito- 2nd place

Ryan Staton-3rd place

Nick Scarl- 4th place

Anthony Pizzuto- 6th place
